What People Say About PBI
At the Psychology Business Incubator, our community is at the heart of everything we do and the words shared by our members, workshop attendees, and collaborators say more about PBI than we ever could. From psychologists building their first service, to established consultants expanding their impact, to students finding clarity in their next steps, the feedback we receive reflects what makes PBI special: connection, collaboration, practical support, and a space where people genuinely want to see each other succeed. These testimonials capture the real experiences of people who have joined our workshops, events, collaborations, and community spaces and we’re incredibly proud to showcase them here.
“It’s been a while since I joined Psychology Business Incubator, and writing a blog for the page feels like getting back to the basics, taking a step back to reflect on everything I’ve learned so far.
I feel genuinely happy and positive about being part of this amazing community that Alan Bradshaw has built. We’re growing every day, and each meeting reminds me how incredible it is to be surrounded by people who are curious, open, and always willing to learn.
A huge thank you to Georgia Hodkinson GMBPsS for always encouraging and supporting us. I still remember the voice message you sent me with feedback — it really stuck with me. It reminded me how a small act of appreciation for someone’s effort can mean so much. It can lift them up, motivate them to keep going, and help them rediscover their drive. That simple moment taught me a lesson I’ll always carry forward, especially for beginners who are just starting their journey.
Sometimes guidance doesn’t come from the place we know — it comes from those we meet along the way. And that’s exactly what my blog is about.
What I’m most content about in this community is that we all share a passion for psychology and are here to support one another. It’s reassuring to know that I’m surrounded by like-minded people who are just as committed to learning and evolving within the field. I truly feel I’m in the right place to continue my journey."
"I've recently joined the Psychology Business Incubator and here's some quick/honest reflections: I was attracted to PBI as there are a great group of people at its heart - Alan Bradshaw, Karen Mills (FMBPsS, CertBP), Georgia Hodkinson GMBPsS). I'm fortunate that I've been running a successful psychology-based business for 16 years, but I don't take that for granted (I always talk about being fortunate rather than lucky that business is good). I'm almost always working at/slightly over capacity so I'm not in it for the business development. For me, I've just had a stupidly busy 3 years where I've stepped back from some of my networks and I've missed that as I am a 'people person'. I'm really enjoying getting stuck in to PBI events and meeting fabulous people!."
re: Karen's Positive Procrastination Workshop "I enjoyed your session on Positive Procrastination!"
"Ah, thanks for the shout out and it is lovely to be part of such an amazing week with so much good news!"
"I was at the CIPD Annual Conference yesterday and was catching up with people I hadn't seen for ages. I was talking with one person about how my deep need for connection hasn't been fully met since lockdown as none of the networks that existed beforehand seem to have ever fully bounced back. And then I was sharing about Psychology Business Incubator and saying that it is meeting the need for connection that I was craving. Mahoosive thanks to you, Alan Bradshaw and Georgia Hodkinson GMBPsS for that!"
"Being an applied psychologist can be quite a lonely existence. The challenges we face are daunting - developing a reputation at the same time as creating a viable business. Whilst many specialise, I’ve always believed that eclectic psychologists who know and can apply theories and principles from different domains are those who can help tackle to really big challenges humans face. One of those in the clinical field is the growth in diagnosis of ADHD and Autism, conditions that need addressing for the health of the future nation, requiring eclectic psychological skills to come anywhere near viable ideas for support and adaptation. In the organisation world, the levels of stress are high and have been for decades. Our productivity is flat. Are the two connected? In my view, yes. But it takes eclectic psychologists to have any chance of changing this situation. What is so brilliant about the PBI is that it’s a forum that can help tackle these big challenges - building a reputation, creating a viable business, integrating knowledge from different psychological domains to address the major threats to the nations’ future and the doldrums that organisations are generally in.Over time I can see the PBI helping to create a psychological culture in the UK, one that provokes respect between people, where the blunt instrument of politics adopts psychological nuances that help everyone, and where professionalism is once again something to cherish."
“Excellent workshop Alan Bradshaw and Karen Mills (FMBPsS, CertBP) !
My key learning point is that procrastination can actually be a helpful and useful thing, that can make us more effective - as long as we frame it and use it properly!"

re: Alan's Birthday Meetup “A great evening with great people"
"This week I had the pleasure of joining the Psychology Business Incubator group. Here I have already met and connected with others with an array of psychology experiences.
I have never felt so welcomed by others who share the same passion as I do, so thank you Karen Mills (FMBPsS, CertBP) for our initial chat and introduction, and thank you Alan Bradshaw for setting this up."
"Being an entrepreneur can be lonely at times! Working long hours, speculating, continually trying to improve oneself to increase credibility, hoping that a core business proposal or idea may land!!This is where the PBI comes in!! A fantastic network of likeminded individuals from the psychology space who support each other, have open minds and are empathetic to your thinking!! Led by a team of dynamic directors, this group has supported me in developing my coaching business and further the development of two technologies which I had started to flounder with - self doubt can be cruel and damped the brightest of ideas!!Given its infancy, the group really has accelerated its progess and I am delighted to have joined and met the member’s acquaintances!!If you’re in a similar situation or are interested in developing a more diverse network I suggest that you consider joining too, you won’t regret it!!Remember ‘connection is key’!"

re: Karen's Positive Procrastination Workshop "Your talk really got me thinking (Positive) procrastination needs to be brought out of the shadows and validated in the workplace. You caused me to consider that it is probably weaponized, as well as stigmatized and vilified although it is a completely natural and healthy human function."

"I have known and worked with PBI founder Alan Bradshaw for many years. What he’s building here with Georgia and Karen is truly inspiring. I’ve seen the Incubator grow from it’s inception into an important and well-regarded one-stop shop, from services to trainings, to support for members and lots in-between. I’m excited to see where they, members, associates and us as collaborators take it next. Onward and upward!"
